Very thankful we were asked to talk about ourselves and Limecast at 1 Million Cups Capital Region next week after someone saw us talk at Startup Tech Valley.

18F folks should reform as a co-op and provide the same services.
https://18F.coop has a nice ring to it.
In his _Letter from a Birmingham Jail_, #MartinLutherKing emphasizes the importance of #EconomicJustice alongside #SocialJustice and criticizes how white supremacy is happy to take wealth from the hands of Black folks as customers while refusing to provide them with good jobs.
I just ran the numbers for one of my tech #WorkerCooperatives with open-comp + opt-in for self-identifying along several axes.
Non-white team members comprise 53% of our staff and receive ~56% of our total compensation.
2025 will be the year we really shift into high gear and build our co-op into a place were we can all live rich lives. We have a lot of ideas and projects circling us so stay tuned for great things to come!
We finally are able to mention our clients and partners we work with so on the website they go!
@catalystcoop Damn, I'd love to work in a #techcoop structure, but it seems like the compensation is always extremely low.
@hamishcampbell
a beautiful example of obsolescence in action.
what does phone.coop offer? any #techcoop offerings??
Palante Technology Cooperative is seeking a new Web Developer to join the cooperative!
While we have limited public repositories on GitHub for convenience the majority of our open source repos are on Codeberg because of how it is governed as a democratic community-driven, non-profit software development platform.
You'll be seeing more repos as time goes on mostly for Rust, Go, and simple HTML/CSS web apps.
Why VCs Will Never Give Us Money (And We're Okay With That)
One thing I think could really help is a tech co-op incubator - a Co-Up, so to speak - that helps people wanting to start new co-ops with finding seed funding, as well as things like advice on legal structures, book-keeping and financial reporting, and so on. As well as just creating a pool of like-minded people who've already done it and made it work. Who new co-op founders can reach out to for, support and mentoring when things get tough.
The folks at @patio put on a great monthly general assembly meeting today sharing the state of the community and what the future looks like!
Spoiler: It's bright!
We're always evolving our website when we find ways to share our message and our passion.
We've updated our Services page to give more details on what we can do. It will evolve over time as we fill things out more.
2023 was a year of growth and challenges for Patio!
We had our first (and second) assembly.
We built our identity and landing page.
We shared many job opportunities, and set up interdisciplinary and inter-cooperative teams.
We participated in global events.
We couldn't be prouder and more grateful!
Thanks to all our supporters and, especially, to the co-ops that build this community every day
See you next year!
I don’t want to go back to agency work!
I’ve already got some client work lined up, but ultimately I’d rather build some commons in a #TechCoop of some sort!
Hi, everyone! We're Position Development, a software consultancy founded in 2014 that has been a worker cooperative since 2021! We're a five-person remote team with developers in New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, and West Virginia. #introductions #cooperative #techcoop
An interesting article on @Krautreporter by Rebecca Kelber on how to successfully set up a #cooperative. I think it is worth reading for all those who deal with questions of #PlatformCoop and #TechCoop in the media sector (in German - thanks for the hint, @Leifkramp): https://krautreporter.de/4965-so-grundet-ihr-erfolgreich-eine-genossenschaft
Reviewing bookmarks. Surprized I missed Webarchitects Co-operative!
"Webarchitects is a multi-stakeholder co-operative based in Sheffield, UK, we have been established as a co-op for over ten years and provide managed, ethical, green, open source, cloud hosting services for individuals and organisations."
