During the test, the screen is fixed with some tape.Thanks for asking regarding the battery connector 😄 I was very careful and used kapton tape to isolate all contacts I wasn't working on. I think that working on the old (swollen) battery is less critical than working on the the new battery. I wasn't able to measure a voltage on the old battery. M4xThe new <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/repebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#repebble</a> watches gave me the motivation which I needed to finally replace the battery on my <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/pebble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#pebble</a> time steel (again). But this time with a proper battery (3,8V / 400 mAh - HSABAT SP551923AE P140116 on Aliexpress). I've removed the connector from the original battery and soldered it onto the new one. It's very tight but it fits and it's working! It's sad that many have not had updates in 10 years, and many of the websites associated with the app have disappeared. I hope the rebirth of the Pebble (or RePebble) makes people want to get back into their app from back then.
