As an author, I often doubt myself. Are my stories good enough? Am I using the right words to convey a scene? Are my characters interesting? Will readers hate my books? And lots of other similar questions that make me spiral into a dark state of mind.😔<br>

But then there are moments when I read a positive review or comment, see my books climbing a chart, or get a touching email from a reader. And it fills my heart with courage, gratitude and excitement.☺️Such small things mean the world to me when I doubt myself. Even if my books won't be liked by everyone, I start believing in myself again, and I chase my writing dreams one step at a time. Word by word, chapter by chapter, book by book.<br>

Yeah, there are still days when I wanna give up on writing. But if I'd done it, I never would have gotten so many amazing opportunities.🤩The most recent of which is being featured in a book box - a dream I've been chasing for a while without getting much traction, but now it is finally becoming a reality.<br>

Some days, he's my faithful guardian angel. Other days, he's a devilish troublemaker beyond comparison.😅 If you've ever had a husky, you know what the latter means, lol.<br>

This furball has inspired a handful of characters in my books (especially my werewolves, haha) and has gotten me through some pretty dark periods. For example, I used to get brutal migraines from too much screen time after suffering a concussion a few years ago, and my baby boy somehow KNEW it was time to pull me away from the computer before the pain kicked in. He's been with me through times of grief and times of joy, and words can't express how much I love him - even when he tries to distract me from a deadline just to get belly rubs.😆<br>

But this one is about a mermaid. I was hoping for a prequel, but my characters never listen to me. I sit on the passenger seat and wait for the carriage to crash. But that's the beauty of it.
