m@thias.hellqui.st :verified-skull: After 1 week with the new keyboard at home, my view still stands. The new one is a lovely keyboard, and it really feels great to type on. However, it can not compete with my Moonlander when it comes to flexibility and configurability. The Moonlander is the best keyboard I have ever used. Expensive, but great. The Moonlander also has just enough keys for those of us that use a non-english typeset on a regular basis.Also, as a side-note, and as a touch typer, I have gotten really used to the Moonlander being columnar instead of using a traditional layout. The “traditional” layout made sense back in the days of mechanical typewriters, where the typeset arms weren’t supposed to be able to tangle themselves up if you typed “too fast”. Went for a QMK Keychron keyboard which is lovely in itself, but trying things out I am now holding a completely new appreciation for ZSA’s firmware configurator, which is what I use to configure the Moonlander. It is MILES ahead of the QMK/VIA configurator. I had no idea. I thought the ZSA configurator, being based on QMK, would be similar to what I could expect for any QMK keyboard. But I couldn’t teach my fingers to stop rolling from, say, S to T. If your hands are on a smaller size then I strongly recommend looking at <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/voyager" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#voyager</a>. This does not seem to be your case I assume ? Judging by looking at the "device" below the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ergodox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ergodox</a> :-)

Now waiting for switches to arrive. Ordered Ambient Twilight so I'm really curious how much of a difference I'm going to see. Switches which came with the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/voyager" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#voyager</a> are a bit "stiff" for my fingers. I had Khail MX Brown ones in my old <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ErgodoxEZ" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ErgodoxEZ</a> and those felt like a tank. Let's hope that tarrifs and all that mess which is now in the world won't block my delivery from Canada to US.

Is it worth to buy it ? I don't travel which is little bit of a thing which prevents me from spending almost $400 on new keyboard.

There's just something I cannot make work for me when it comes to the layout. Either I miss the number keys, or I miss the bottom modifier row.Looking at happy user's layouts, I see how they usually use macro layers a lot more while I try to make accessing numbers and symbols more comfortable with easy to reach layers -- and then still fail to utilize modifier based shortcuts.Meh.
