sgt1372<p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Jazz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jazz</span></a></p><p>Spent the last roughly 3 hours listening to the 6 <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/LP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LP</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/MosaicRecords" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MosaicRecords</span></a> set of "The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Sidney Bechet" recorded between 1939 & 1953. </p><p>I'm not really a <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Dixieland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Dixieland</span></a> or <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/TraditionalJazz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TraditionalJazz</span></a>"fan but the time flew by as I changed/flipped the LPs every 15 mins or so listening to this amazing 70-85 yr old music. </p><p>Sidney Bechet played jazz <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/clarinet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>clarinet</span></a> long before <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BennyGoodman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BennyGoodman</span></a> came on the scene &, while it's undocumented, I dare say that what <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Goodman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Goodman</span></a> learned about how to play the jazz clarinet, he learned from <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/SidneyBechet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SidneyBechet</span></a>.</p>
