This annoys me because it is the best place to hash out with the OP what they were really trying to ask, on mathematical or CS questions. But Quora is not really interested in thoughtful answers (hence the development of Poe).What's more puzzling is why they would spend their scarce development resources on this -- it can't be the moderation burden, as Quora gave up on functional moderation a long time ago. Is it to push more conversation into answers? Are comments on questions somehow not as good AI-fodder as answers (and comments on answers?) Is a designer trying to simplify the interface?
