This grey heron landed in front of me next to a small pond at sunrise, just as the first sun rays reached the pond. Frank Paul SilyeThis was one of the first bird photos I have taken. Many years later, I am still very proud of it! The photo of the kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) is taken 11 meters up in a tree. The kestrel is the most widespread and often most abundant of European birds of prey. It belongs to the falcon family Falconidae, and is also known as the European Kestrel, Eurasian Kestrel, or Old World Kestrel. This species occurs over a large range. It is widespread in Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as occasionally reaching the east coast of North America. Kestrels do not build their own nests, but use nests built by other species. A few words about the breakfast should also be written: It is a European Green Lizard (Lacerta viridian).
