BellycanSpeaking of chillies: one I bought from hammerbarn a couple of years ago billed itself as a "mild pumpkin habanero". It produces lots of these little yellow pumpkin-shaped chillies, packed *full* of seeds, no heat at all. But the flesh still has that lovely aroma and flavour of the habanero family. On the menu this year: <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/habanero" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#habanero</a> to try something really spicy, and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/jalapeno" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#jalapeno</a> to complement it. Additionally Diavolicchio Calabrese, Diavolicchio di Diamante and Peperoncino Etna from seeds which I harvested myself last year. Really hoping those are still alive.

Aaron PareckiFinally ran out of the August/September batch so time to make some more habanero sauce! This was about one pound of habaneros and made 16 bottles!

thezerobitI'm not sure what sort of ascended being my wife has become, but she handled her first ever habanero like it was no big deal, didn't even drink anything afterwards. She has acclimated to spice at an alarming rate. The hottest pepper she ever ate before today was a jalapeno and a habanero is like 100 times hotter, literally. Anyways, felt some genuine mouth pain today. Holy god, that is the hottest sensation I've ever experienced in my mouth. It was extremely painful, and I could not just sit there and experience it, I was pacing around and ended up having to drink a couple glasses of milk pretty much straight away. FarhadSorry not a very good picture, but I think I have managed to cross pollinate my Habanero and Serrano peppers. I found some 3x3' by 16" tall raised beds & I think that's made the difference both for my back & for the extra soil.
