What *I* would like to know is, how the hell does any governor, much less California's, have the time to create and record a bloody podcast?

Doesn't he have better things to do, like, I dunno... trying to beat back Mango Mussolini's encroachments on his state and its people's rights?

Katie Porter has announced that she running for governor of California

"What California needs now is a little bit of hope and a whole lot of grit. Fresh blood and new ideas. Leaders with the backbone to fight for what’s right. That’s why I am running for Governor”

I look forward to voting for her.

click.actionnetwork.orgTell your governor: No public pension funds for risky crypto investments! Currently Cryptocurrencies really serve no useful purpose. Basically, they’re only good for buying other crypto assets, money laundering, extortion and scams. As economist Paul Krugman has said, their market value rests on nothing but “technobabble and libertarian derp.” And, the deeper it infiltrates Wall Street, crypto could destabilize the entire financial system. For some in the crypto world, that’s even the goal. Trump once denounced crypto, but as the industry poured tens of millions of dollars into his 2024 campaign, he saw an opportunity to make a pile of money. Frankly, it’s an investment strategy right up his alley: big bucks combined with limitless opportunity for exploitation and grift, with outcomes obscured by layers of chaos. Using the momentum created by Trump, there’s a new effort by crypto lobbyists to broaden out beyond individual investments and target the $6 trillion in public pension fund assets. The goal: Convince state leaders to invest taxpayer money and public pension funds into cryptocurrencies. Now reporting on the industry by CoinDesk reveals that 16 states are already considering bills that would put public money into crypto.[1] That follows reporting by Cryptonews that the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, the 9th largest pension fund in America, has already invested $162 million in bitcoin.[2] In addition, the Associated Press reports that Satoshi Action, a bitcoin advocacy group, has developed a “model bill” they expect to be introduced in at least 10 states this year.[3] If states were to jump into the crypto fray with public pension funds, it would inject a new high level of risk into retirement, where there is the least tolerance for volatility. We must keep it from getting worse and even more dangerous to the nation’s economy and public pension funds that teachers, firefighters, and others depend on for retirement security. State governors must not let the crypto lobby take over their public pension systems! Click ‘START WRITING’ to sign and send a message calling on your governor to veto any legislation that invests crypto in public pensions now! States could see a crypto policy blitz in 2025 in spite of the risks
