Smolen was eventually released unharmed, and Trỗi was shot by firing squad shortly thereafter in Chí Hòa Prison.In the West, Trỗi's arrest went largely unreported. There was even documentation IIRC of the <a href="https://makai.chaotic.ninja/tags/NationalDemocratic" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NationalDemocratic</a> movement here in the Philippines providing support for the Polish resistance, despite the Philippine ND concept (different from the <a href="https://makai.chaotic.ninja/tags/NationalDemocracy" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#NationalDemocracy</a> of the Polish kind btw) being the brainchild of the <a href="https://makai.chaotic.ninja/tags/Communist" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Communist</a> Party of the Philippines. I don't remember the exact order anymore, but the village was plagued by snakes, and inhabitants tried to get rid of them with hedgehogs, who then plagued the village... (Or thereabouts.)
