Dennis Ritchie produced the C programming language, worked on several operating systems, and designed the core of UNIX, an operating system family that runs on most computers on Earth and all computers on Mars. If you combine C and UNIX-like systems together, Dennis Ritchie has had a direct influence on over 99.998% of all current computers. Unfortunately, he is not well known, as Steve Jobs took most of the credit (not crediting Ritchie for the majority of what MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, etc. is built on) along with others who didn't mention him enough.</p>

kowsvc :runbsdBg:<p>"The DMR thesis, draft copies of which have now been found, represents what is typographically one of the most sophisticated math dissertations of the 1960s, perfect placement of sub/superscripts and abundance of Greek letters and math symbols, and the uniformity from version to version. Or could he have somehow tapped into new technologies that would allow him to do things that other students couldn’t do?</p><p>Experts are clear that computers were not advanced enough to have been able to aid Dennis in January 1968.
