Gut pain is due to tension-sensitive nerves being triggered by excessive stretching and pulling sensations.

Bob Thomson
Well, I got a 9/9 on the Boston score for bowel prep, so I did it in well much as it was massively annoying and tiring.

Better still, my Crohn’s is in clinical remission also, which is even better - more the result of restarting #lowdosenaltrexone than the steroids I’d wager, as it was not great after the latter. Either way good news.

Only concern is I have another check of my pancreas in 6 months due to a cyst that needs monitored.
There is always something with
#chronicillness

#crohns

Bob Thomson
As a veteran of colonoscopies, I’ve actually lost count, tomorrow’s is my 7th I think, this has to be the worst prep regime I’ve had yet. Usual drink of a litre of vile stuff 18:00-19:00 but the second lot is at 05:00-06:00 before the procedure at 08:30 - and I have to be in a taxi 06:15 to get there for 07:00. Not going to happen that. Will be later than 07:00 but last time there was a long time sitting about waiting anyway.

#crohns #crohnsdisease #autoimmune #chronicillness

Robert Massey
Prep mostly done. So it's stage 1 of checking out how to deal with ongoing (37 years) Crohn's and diverticulitis disease tomorrow. First up is a colonoscopy, which always fascinates the scientist in me if nothing else. #Crohns #Colitis #medicine

Shiny Amygdala, ph.D
So, I questioned the nurse after the procedure if I had dietary restrictions and she said none. So, the day after the colonoscopy I ate sauerkraut (to repopulate my gut biome) raw carrots, I ate green beans towards the evening, salmon for dinner.

Peanut butter on a rice cake for a bedtime snack.

At about 6:30 in this morning I wake my excruciating stomach pain. Have to vomit. Can't vomit. Dry heaves. Abdominal pain

At 12 noon the diarrhea starts in. It's about 2:47 pm and I'm still going at it.

I read online documents on post colonoscopy care and found that a restricted diet is RECOMMENDED during the first WEEK after the colonoscopy

I know this is graphic, but I'm pooping out nonstop carrots. Carrots. Carrots. Carrots 😭

I can't hold down any liquid whatsoever. My inclination is to halt all drinking for several hours until the diarrhea stops.

The doctor office is closed so I can't ask them for advice.

Does anyone have experience with this?
