I canceled my monthly donation to this instance since I have moved over to using my own @liaizon

can this account just stay here? I still care about social.coop just need to have less internet expenses. I let some domains expire this year for the first time ever!

still a paying member of social.coop but not really sure whats going on these days and the uncertainty and drama that went down in the past made me curious of its continued existence. is there a 2019 roadmap of social.coop plans at all?

Just saw people saying social coop drama and came here to find out whats going on. Can someone fill me in quick? Why are people leaving?!

Catching up with the debate that has been happening around social.coop federation, and reflecting that as hard as it has been, at least there is a record of what happened. Most social media platforms provide no visibility into these important discussions.

@mattcropp my other account got a notification from this account 17 hours after I posted it. something is up.

This is the current status of the client and the server. I don't show notifications but they work too. The one thing to add is working comments but this will come later. I'm going with the admin UI now. At the end of the video you can see live timelines working

I started the night reading the ActivityPub spec and Pleroma source code in hopes of understanding the protocol well enough to write a bot. Got a good handle on it, but along the way stupidly made a rather tame/ironic comment on a political/antifa post and got embroiled in a bar brawl. Then to save the day, along comes shitpost which I liked, and suddenly my entire feed erupts in an endless and accelerating reddit-like circle-jerk about Big Tiddy Alf. End the night crying laughing-- loud enough to scare the cats. Y'all are funny. Thanks for improving my night.

sorry I haven't been using you oh little coop. all the followers build up on one instance and then it has so much more incentive to use it.

> Anarchism used to be bursting with utopian imagination. We need to get that visionary impulse back, and then get it to work creating things.

One thing I feel is a big contributor to burnout is being too focused on the "anti" aspect of left struggle. Being anti-capitalist, anti-racist, etc. Obviously, being those things is good, but defining yourself too heavily by being the antithesis of the status quo is an exhausting endeavor. Try to direct more energy to the post-capital restructuring, and anchor yourself on what you believe in as well. Universal access to material security, education, healthcare, etc. A better world is coming!

social.coop is looking for volunteers for its admin ops team:

I think it will be an opportunity to meet and collaborate with other co-op members as well as learn how platform cooperatives work at a very practical level. See you there?

I didn't realize you (@vmatekole) are in Berlin till I just saw your post about running a cafe here. Would love to come check out your cafe. I was looking through the Loomio cause I was wondering what was going on with the tech ops team thing and then realized I hadn't interacted with you over here in the fediverse yet. are there other folks in you know of?

would be willing to pay someone to install Pleroma for me for a custom instance linked to my domain wake.st if anyone is familiar with that process

We're looking for awesome #decentralization proposals for #MozFest2018! Submit ideas here: mozillafestival.org/proposals RT for exposure!
