Car Dependency is a Spectrum

Ha! Fun to be the one to introduce a young lesbian friend looking for "strong women music" to Erykah Badu, Kate Bush, Yoko Ono (what a bastard you are), Dessa... Her suggestions: Misterwives, Alice Merton, ZZ Ward - all unknown to me, pretty poppy.

Hi all. I'm Lucia. New on the block, here to introduce myself:

-- I enjoy computer music, post-photography, and backpacking. Have built a tiny home and eager to do it again.
-- I also enjoy DIY arts like rave and zine scenes.
-- I like to make music and visual art on my computer and I enjoy exploring livecoding and DSP. Some of it's on my website and i'll prob post some here too, along with process posts.

I also have a presence on Merveilles. This presence will point to that one but i'm quite glad to be here to interact with instance-specific happenings.

See you around!

Anybody using socialcoop.meet.coop and getting this security error?

Any suggestions on who to bug about it?

hey speaking of food (when am I not?): Sept 21-23 - Global People’s Summit (GPS) on Food Systems, a Global South-led counter-summit to the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS). The GPS will gather the broadest number of rural peoples, people’s organizations, CSOs, and advocates on-ground and online to develop a People’s Action Plan and draw up a People’s Declaration for the radical transformation of the current food regimes towards just, equitable, healthy, and sustainable food systems.

FB has its hooks into me. Two most recent examples: an exchange with Michael Yates of Monthly Review Press about work and a comment thread connecting a couple of wonderful co-op organizers in Mexico and the US. Keep trying to raise awareness of the alternatives -- which could easily allow the same networking -- but hard to get people off the ocean liner and into our little zodiac!

Quote of the week: "I'm not religious, but if I had a religion, it would be food based" - and aren't they all, really! Nice to meet you, Community! I'm Laurie and I'm the chief cook and bottle washer over at Open Food Network USA - learn more about us at about.openfoodnetwork.net.
