If we've learned anything from Antietam, it's that we just can't keep marching people over a hill from just one side.
If there is a hill, it needs to be approached around from the right, around from the left, and THEN over the top. Taking the top then means that you have the high ground and can chase those Bastards straight back to Hell.
Starkimarm I think that's a misunderstanding. They don't leave X because Elon is a nazi, but because there are too many nazis, trolls and dipshits in their timeline and interactions and that's a problem BlueSky actually solves quite well at the moment (and to be fair, better than the fediverse). Threads not so much, but they seem to abandon that too in the meantime.

You're right, but the proliferation of nazis, trolls and dipshits results from the whims of the new owner. So the owner is the root of the problem. So ownership, i.e. being owned by someone or some profit-driven entity, *is* the peril.
That is partly right, but obviously many could live very well with Twitter being for-profit pre-Elon and many can live with BlueSky the way it is right now. Because it also has some aspects people like. that the fediverse is lacking.
Has Elon been banned from getting a Fediverse account?

I did attempt to contact John Mastodon about this. I requested, kindly, to permaban Space Karen from the Fediverse.
I have yet to hear back. I do have it on good account that John Mastodon is involved with Fediverse Chick - which might explain the delay.

Sorry - that was merely meant as a joke. John Mastodon became somewhat of a meme, starting when he was cited as the founder of Mastodon.
Fediverse Chick is another, more recent meme, because some actor created accounts under the name 'Nicole' everywhere and subsequently spamming folks through DMs. This is also referred to as "getting Ncoled".
One remark: Nicole is likely an actual person and not involved with the spammer - whom very likely has nefarious intentions. Please report any DM to your instance - the mods/admins ought to take care of it.

No worries! Glad that you moved to tbe Fediverse. I hope you really enjoy your time here. It might take little bit more effort - as the Fediverse is not AI powered or fueled by some nasty algorithm.
I personally was really amazed by the real interactions on the Fediverse, reminding me of the early, non-commercialized web.
