@jonny I had a friend working on SEO when these things were starting to roll out. They were trying to figure out a way to serve ads with voice UX. Years later, no one has figured out a way to make this happen.
Things like this Sony patent to yell brand names at a television to stop commercials didn't catch on for some reason.
@schmudde I always pictured them going full throttle into the WALL-E ad bots and just being in people's houses with a charmingly broken robot servant quipping catchphrases like running into the wall and being like "doh, wish I would have taken a Snickers (R) Second to think on that" and then standing around expectantly until you ordered a case of bars out of sympathy, only so the robot can wander off muttering under its breath how degrading it is to exploit with convenience

@jonny I feel like, "Selling something people actually want at a price that makes a profit" is an undervalued business model in the tech world.
