h @h

It's not funny anymore when hordes of crazy people with military-grade guns respond to the FBI's dog whistle.

It's real. I repeat. This is not a simulacrum. This is not abstract.
This is not something that happened in the distant 1930s. This is not something you can brush aside with snark.
These are people armed to the teeth, with the semi-official backing of the FBI.
(Who already have a regrettable track record in some the darkest corners of history)

@h this crap is getting out of hand... "antifa get training in syria"? "vegas shooter girlfriend went to ME"? How are the two related? Such primitive propaganda...

@antanicus @h one propaganda style is just to sew uncertainty. Have there appear to be so many competing crazy viewpoints that it's not clear where the truth about something is.

@bob @h yuo, a favourite among CEOs and other corporate minions...

@antanicus @bob @h And that PR pioneer Göring. Or was it already in Mein Kampf the tactic was described?

@clacke @h @bob the first to actually invent this kind of communication was Edward Bernays while working for the tobacco industry

@antanicus @bob @h Wow, he worked for the "Committee on Public Information" already in WWI.
@clacke @antanicus @h no, it's one of the oldest tactics known as fog of war or misdirection. If you can't censor opponents then generate other distracting narratives, preferably of a sensational kind to draw attention away.

@bob @h @clacke Bernays was the first to use a modern version of the tactic in advertising and politics, though the tradition of misleading and/or confusing public speeches dates back to Roman times

@h always quality content from infowars eh?

@hangman256 Your mileage may vary :-)

@h were you unaware of the sarcasm inherent in my comment ?

@h I have been taken to task by those eager to embrace the current Russia mania for even suggesting I don't believe a word that emerges from the FBI/CIA propaganda machine. There are way too many people who have way too much trust in the untrustworthy.
