I love this. 💜

It never occurred to me that I could have a dedicated tackle box for buck and boost power converters, not to mention dedicated boxes for other modules (Microcontroller boards like Pi Pico and ESP32, Arduino, AD/DA converters, sensors, connectors, etc). I have more variable buck+boost converters in my collection to dig up and add, and I've included some other power boards here (relay boards for a UPS, with and without a diode for charging).

Of course not every size will fit in one of these, but I used to just cram everything in a labelled drawer. Also, the vertical dividers can be removed, making this usable for slightly larger modules like those with antennae. 💜

Wait, #UPS just charged me 30 bucks to NOT delivery my package?! What an awesome service!

Insert email here that they tried, which they very obviously did not as a. I am at the delivery address and b. The doorbell and the camera on the door did not see or feel them.

I'm automating stuff at the family farm using #homeassistant ; lights, smoke alarms, stove fire preventers, heaters.
It's inspiring to see so many iot devices support #ZigBee but also infuriating that 50% of the ones I've encountered has something fucky with their zigbee implementation. It's also somewhat concerning that the mains-connected zb router devices I've found will drop off immediately when the power goes out.
The thought of not getting alerts about a fire in the barn if the power's out, concerns me.
I've got my eye on #matter , but I can't find compatible smoke alarms in Norway (so I can be confident they comply with local regulations, and return them if they're bad), and only limited reviews of ones available from abroad.
I see there's matteralpha.com/category/smoke and community.home-assistant.io/t/ but idk.

Can anyone recommend a mains-powered zigbee router device with a built-in battery, that'll keep it routing for at least 1 hour if it loses power?
Alternatively, a small (max 20*10*10cm) #ups that'll power a zb router or other tiny device for 1 hour? #NUT #networkUpsTools compatibility is a big plus

A #rnode build for #reticulum using a #raspberrypi5 and #geekwormx1206 #ups for a #carnode or #solarnode

Running #meshchat , four #liion #21700 5000 mAh batteries seem to run the #rak4631 and Pi for at least 24 hours. The device can be re-charged using #usbc or 9 to 18 V DC at up to 3 A via a jack or other connector. The rnode shuts down cleanly when batteries run out & re-starts when power is back, whereupon the batteries charge at the same time in #passthroughcharging

TIL: an exhausted #cmos #battery can cause #Linux to behave strangely after a hard #shutdown (caused by a #UPS being incorrectly turned off) - it uses the BIOS time to check the filesystem block timestamps, and as it had gone back to 2012 the OS thinks the filesystem time is in the future! (At least the hard drive on this server isn't on the way out yet which is what I had feared, but this required an emergency visit to the office as it is the main #VOIP #PBX) #sysadmin

@everton137 UPS (U.S.) botched up a delivery yesterday. Was waiting for a package, app shows it was delivered, no truck to be seen. Delivery photo showed it was delivered somewhere else. Expecting another delivery from them today and I'm not optimistic it will be correctly delivered either.

I paid extra for UPS to deliver the Fairphone to my home, but I was just informed that they couldn't deliver it and were taking it to a UPS access point. I was at home all morning.

I guess the working conditions of the delivery people must be tough, but this happens so often. Who knows what collection center they take the package to. It is not always the closest one.

There should be a fair delivery, you can pay extra for the workers, but you get the stuff.

Edit 1: I was lucky. It was delivered in a stationary store near where I had my lunch break. Problem solved.
