'Bird Apple' is a remix I made together with @NeneExists This songs based off Touhou Bad Apple (feat nomico) and was remixed in midi primarily for the 1997 Yamaha MU100 and also featuring the 2012 Roland Integra 7. I did the work on the midi and recording, Nene did the mixing and mastering. I got a little playful with it, so have fun! ^v^

I'm not quite 100% sure how to answer this #JMusicFriday theme of #ForTheNoob since the only thing I can think of to answer someone new to Japanese music would be to try to figure out what style music they like and suggest something I know of with that style.

Many people who don't know much about Japanese music assume it's all the stuff they know about in pop. Especially they might think of the super silly stuff like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (who even made it into Simpsons...) I might like to introduce some people to the fact that there are all kinds out there, including this nice, somewhat grungy sounding rock, so I might introduce someone to something like this just to say "hey, it's not all silly pop!"

I love being a long-time Touhou fan because that means I end up knowing way too much about these characters. My partner watched me play the very good fangame Lost Branch of Legend and I love hearing his usual comments like “oh I know those ones”, “that’s reimu”, and “who’s that one” then he just sits there listening while I infodump all over the place about characters from a shmup series he’s never played and never heard of before meeting me #touhou
