"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is a #ballad written by English musician #EltonJohn and songwriter #BernieTaupin, and performed by John. It is the title track on John's album of the same name. The titular road is a reference to #LFrankBaum's #TheWizardOfOz film and book series. Saw #Wicked tonight.

#TheWizardOfOz is my fave film. I’ve read all the original books & have also read the #GregoryMaguire books that the musical Wicked is based on.I’ve also seen the stage show twice so I’m v familiar with the material.

So I was very skeptical going in!

But it really blew me away. The performances are excellent. #ArianaGrande is perfect as Glinda & her voice is sublime.

My only criticism is how muted the colours are compared to 1939 Technicolour. Munchkinland was dim.
