"As Starmer and many British politicians are pointing their fingers at Tate and the Manosphere and the ubiquitous presence of smart phones, it’s worth recalling that we spent a decade blaming Mortal Kombat for youth violence, up to and including Congressional hearings.

After all, kids are playing games where you get to brutally murder someone. That has to have some kind of impact on them, right? It turns out that there’s almost no evidence that it made the nation’s youth more violent.

Personally, I’m less interested in the rantings of losers like Tate and more interested in what might lead a young man to look to him in the first place. I have no interest in watching a misogynist brag about his antisocial behavior. But if I lacked a job, a family, strong male and female role models in my life, maybe I would turn to a gangster like him to find fulfilment.

I doubt that we can censor our way out of this problem because alienated men will always have someone to serve as an unhealthy inspiration, even if it’s just the drunk at the bar or the screwup they work with at Costco.

And ultimately, oversimplifying this issue may lead us to blame people for things that are far out of their control."

The American Saga · “Adolescence” Is a Great TV Crime Drama. But the Problems Facing Young Men Are More Nuanced.By Zaid Jilani

This past Saturday, I ran a DnD session for my two daughters, and some of their friends. We had fun, but two things worth noting happened during the game.

The innkeep, who they had not earned the trust of yet, refused to serve them normal food, and instead over-charged them for slop. literal slop, they made jokes about how gross it must be, and that it was moving around in the bowl on its own.

The other thing was my oldest daughter, playing a bard, learned the benefits of Viscious Mockery, and that she basically gets to insult her target and do damage.

That night after things were wrapped up, i heard her playing a game or somethig with the friends who remained, and she shouts "Viscuoius Mockery!" at them. I chuckled.

Today, they're looking for something to eat for lunch (theyre both cyber-schooled) and found a bowl of something in the fridge, and theyre joking that its the same slop they were served in the game.

I find this really funny, and sort of heart warming, that they had enough fun in the game I ran for them, that theyre still making references to it.

Guys, this is what its all about.

Wow! went to a local thrift store with Teen, at her suggestion. I think I always thought it would be all crop tops and skinny jeans (not really how either of us are built), but she unearthed a number of dubious items that turned to magic once she put them on! Was great fun, we spent 2 hours there, and a whole new definition of self emerged from it all! 🏆

"It's just weird to talk about your sexual feelings to your parents.” 15-year-old *Ben and his parents, two professionals in their 40s, have watched and discussed the new Netflix drama “Adolescence,” a series that follows the story of a 13-year-old boy who is accused of murdering a female classmate. @BBCNews sits down with Ben and his parents to discuss how their own concerns overlap with the themes from the show:

'Working time restrictions for 14-15 year-olds who are home-schooled would also be removed'

If Florida passes this law, then you will see that the schools in the countryside will empty out.

But that is not a problem because the Ministry of Education will be closed anyway.

Let's all go back to the 1900s.
Life was so great then for the average workman. /s
