Just admiring my book on my shelf!!!

I've sold 21 copies this week which is absolutely WILD. If you bought a copy, seriously from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. It is such an honor to have my work out in the world for people to enjoy. And I'm currently working on another one 👀

💉 Expectant is available on KU and Kobo Plus, and is also available for purchase in ebook or paperback on Amazon. All links are in my bio 🔗

💉 Synopsis:
Nat and Autumn Collier are finally ready for a family after 8 blissful years of marriage. Autumn is pregnant with their dream baby thanks to the miracle of IVF, but when her health takes a turn for the worse, Nat is forced to advocate for her ill wife and beat the clock that is Indiana’s 10-week abortion ban. It seems that no one is taking her concerns seriously, especially Autumn’s OB Dr. Colter, who suddenly seems like he might have something to do with the negative effects of Autumn’s pregnancy.

What to expect:
- Real-world horror
- Pregnancy horror
- Parasites
- Feminine rage
- LGBTQ+ rep
- Short story

Originally published in Your Body, My Rage, A Feminine Rage Horror Anthology from BDA Publishing on January 20, 2025. Now available separately on Kobo and Amazon!

➡️ That's enough promo for now!! I've been in a reading slump and super busy this week, so hopefully I'll be back to my regularly scheduled content this weekend 😅

MY FIRST PUBLISHED SHORT STORY IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE!!! 😭😍

The ebook for Expectant is officially available on Kindle and Kobo!!! It's $0.99 USD to buy, and it's also available on Kindle Unlimited and Kobo Plus! All links are in my bio 🔗

(It's also available in a small paperback if that's more your thing, but it's $5.99 due to printing costs)

I'd really love for you to give this a shot if you have the time. It's under 50 pages, and I'm very excited about it being out in the world. You can find the links to add it on Goodreads and StoryGraph in my bio as well!

#PennedPossibilities 629 — How did you break into publishing? (If you’re already published, of course.)

If you count being #selfpublished the I’ll give a story I shared a couple times over the years. I had gotten a new job at a mortgage company and had the most boring new hire training class. A couple other people there started seeing who could come up with the raunchiest, sexiest, NSFW story before training ended. We all read each other’s works. I liked mine enough that I decided to publish

Happy Wednesday! 🎉

My recent blog post is live. In it, I talk about something that’s been on my mind for a while: publishing exclusively on Amazon.

I had a long thread about this last week. Many folks engaged, which was great. This blog post organizes my own thoughts on the matter, and adds some additional insights.

I know this will be controversial, especially here. Please keep any discussion respectful. 🙏

Sarah J. Hoodlet · Amazon ExclusivityMany indie authors publish exclusively on Amazon for a number of valid reasons, but in a time when aversion toward the big tech company is at its highest, not everyone agrees.

I’ve released 5 #selfpublished books and today I’m feeling hit with severe #impostersyndrome . I #write as a #hobby mostly because I’ve got these stories floating around in my head that need to get out. But once out there I never know if I’ve found “my people” who enjoyed the book. Maybe they’re out there. But I’ve not met them or had any interactions. Not even an email. Ugh. Just ugh. #writingcommunity #amwriting #author #authors #yalit #authorsofmastodon

Check out this recent review of my high fantasy indie novel, Sins of a Dying Empire, part of Below the Heavens!

The first two books are available for free (as well as the currently publishing, serialized third book) in web novel form on Royalroad, found in my bio!

Anyone on here who lives in or near the Henrico area of Virginia: I'm sending out my Small Market News today. It's a newsletter specifically and narrowly focused on the events I'm vending at as The Scribbling Lion Bookstore, and the new books in stock.

Why do you care? Because I hunt down quality books by small press and self published authors, and lean heavily into LGBTQ+ friendly titles and events.

Even if you don't live in the area, you might just find a book to serve as a #BeautifulDistraction! Here's the website, which is where you'll find the sign up link and online store:
