AJ Sadauskas<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://pixelfed.social/ajsadauskas" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>ajsadauskas@pixelfed.social</span></a></span> Some background on this project.</p><p>Sydney Metro West is a ~24km (14.9 mi) automated train line</p><p>When it's completed in 2032, it will connect the two main downtown areas in the Greater Sydney metropolitan area: the Sydney CBD and Parramatta.</p><p>It will also feature 8 (and potentially 10) other stations, including Sydney Olympic Park (where the 2000 Olympics were held), Parramatta's Westmead hospital precinct, and urban renewal precincts like Rose Bay.</p><p>One of those stops is at North Burwood in Sydney's inner-west, roughly half way between the Sydney CBD and Parramatta.</p><p>The southern end of Burwood has become a hub for Sydney's Chinese community. </p><p>It features a bustling Chinatown precinct, with night markets, many restaurants, and new apartment blocks. These updates follow a review aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and cost-efficiency. Croisement à Mamer entre une automotirice classqiue SNCB et une rame de DoSto CFL. (décembre 2006)</p><p>2. Une rame de DoSto avec la 3017 marque l'arrêt à Mamer-Lycée (le site a bien changé depuis l'époque! - décembre 2006)</p><p>3. Si j'en crois mes notes de l'époque, cette composition bigarée composée d'une voiture Wegmann et de voitures I6/I10 tirée par une locomotive série 20 de la SNCB pourrait faire croire à quelque train international mais il n'en est rien, il s'agit du train L 5888 Luxembourg - Arlon (direct) - Libramont (omnibus). Il est fort probable qu'il s'agit de la réutilisation d'une rame d'un train IR Liège - Luxembourg qui était utilisée pour ce train autrefois assuré par trois AM classiques. Si je me souviens bien, elles n'ont plus été autorisées car non équipées du Memor 2+ des CFL et la SNCB a du trouver une solution de rechange. At first sight, we could think this is an international train but it isn't! It's if I trust my notes L 5888 Luxembourg - Arlon (Direct) - Libramont (Stopping service) that was earlier with 3 2-Car classical EMUs but If I remember correctly, the old EMUs were no more authorised to operate in Luxembourg due to a lack of CFL Memor 2+ security system. A la fin de la balade, le sentier longe la voie ferrée, ce qui m'a permis de photographier cette Desiro ML de la SNCB assurant un IC vers Liège via Troisvierges avant qu'il ne s'engage dans le tunnel de Bourscheid. Le château surplombe la vallée.</p><p>2. Une autre Desiro assurant l'IC vers Luxembourg que je vais reprendre pour repartir vers la ville.</p><p>3. A mon arrivée ce matin, le train RE formé de deux rames KISS, vers Rodange via Luxembourg et Esch-sur-Alzette (la plus longue relation ferrée au Grand-Duché qui relie deux points frontières : Rodange à l'ouest, et Troisvierges au nord en passant par la seconde ville du pays, Esch-sur-Alzette. Réalité quotidienne depuis peu, les nouvelles rames Coradia Stream des CFL viennent désormais régulièrement à Arlon en Belgique sur les services RB comme celle-ci vue à Luxembourg cet après-midi.</p><p>🇬🇧 A few trains from today : </p><p>1. I could take a photo of this SNCB/NMBS Desiro ML EMU working an IC to Liège as the path is directly next to the track. It is seen by leaving Michelau towards the Bourscheid Tunnel, the Castle offers a unique background.</p><p>2. Another Desiro working the IC to Luxembourg I took to go back to the City.</p><p>3. By my arrival this morning, I could photograph those two KISS EMUs working the longest service in Luxembourg joining two borders (Troisvierges in the North with Rodande in the West) via Esch-sur-Alzette, the second biggest city of the Grand-Duchy. I think I must have taken this photo from the old Hilton bridge which, if memory serves me correctly, was a little south of the new bridge. In 2001, the road over the bridge was renamed Sir Donald Bradman Drive.</p>
Éric🇧🇪🥾🚆🚊🌼🐑🐞📷<p>🇫🇷 Retour en février 2005 : à cette époque, j'étais de retour au centre de formation de Juy (entre Liège et Namur) pour la suite de ma formation de base de chef-garde et pendant les pauses pendant que d'autres s'en grillaient une, moi je photographiais les trains qui passaient en gare. 😅 </p><p>Huy, sur la ligne 125 Liège - Namur faisait partie jusqu'à l'arrivée des Thalys de l'axe international Liège - Paris qui juequ'en 1940 faisait partie du réseau du Nord-Belge, filiale belge de la compagnie du Nord (français). </p><p>Pour cette première série :</p><p>1. La place de la gare.</p><p>2. Les "breaks" assuraient à cette époque la relation IC Liège - Namur - Bruxelles, à Namur elles accouplaient avec une tranche qui venait de Dinant. Aujourd'hui, ces deux relations sont distinctes et la tranche Dinant va à l'Aéroport de Zaventem.</p><p>3. Aujourd'hui disparues du parc SNCB, les 55 assuraient encore des trains de marchandises en 2005 comme ici avec ce trains de coils (bobinne d'aciers).</p><p>4. Les AM96 de la tranche 441-490 sont équipées pour circuler aussi sous le 25 kV et sur le réseau SNCF. En 2005 elles assuraient les IC Liège - Tournai - Lille-Flandres.</p><p>Bonne soirée! </p><p>🇬🇧 Back again in February 2005 : in that time, I was back to the class room for the second part of my instruction as guard. While some of my colleagues smoked one, I took photos of trains. 😅 </p><p>Huy is located on railway line 125 Liège - Namur and was part of the international route to Paris until Thalys services appeared. It was the last private railway to be integrated in SNCB Network in 1940. The line was then in hands of the compagnie du Nord-Belge, a subsidiary of the (French) Compagnie du Nord.</p><p>For this frist batch :</p><p>1. The railway station.</p><p>2. Break EMU 406 working an IC from Liège to Brussels via Namur. In that time, a second part coming from Dinant coupled with that one in Namur. Nowadays there are 2 different services, the Dinant part goes also to Brussels Airport.</p><p>3. Class 55 diesel locomotives were still active in freight services like those heavy coils transport as on the photo.</p><p>4. Voici ici deux photos de matériel DBAG qui officiaient sur le réseau luxembourgeois en 2002/2003.</p><p>Les locomotives bi-fréquences de la série 181.2 étaient aptes à circuler tant sous le 15 kV AC de la DB que le 25 kV AC de la SNCF ou des CFL. On les retrouvaient donc logiquement sur les trains internationaux entre l'Allemagne et la France et le Luxembourg. Ainsi le 27 décembre 2002, la 181.215 en tête d'une rame de voitures ex-IR assure le train IC 433 vers Norddeich-Mole via Trier - Koblenz - Köln - Münster - Emden. On peut d'ailleurs remarquer l'écluse électrique séparant les deux tensions par les signaux latéraux et l'aspect des poteaux de caténaire. </p><p>🇬🇧 The last days, I posted some SNCF rolling stock operating in Luxembourg. Here are two pictures of DBAG rolling stock operating on CFL tracks in 2002/2003.</p><p>Bi-frequence Class 181.2 locomotives were capable of operating under German 15 kV AC or French 25 kV AC and were then used on international services between Germany and France or Luxembourg. On Dec. 27, 2002, Class 181.215 is heading ex-IR carriages as IC 433 to Norddeich-Mole via Trier - Koblenz - Köln - Münster - Emden. 🇫🇷 Deux souvenirs de 2004 lors d'un déplacement dans le cadre d'une journée de formation à Forest-Voitures. Les locomotives séries 16 et 20 ont disparu depuis un bon moment mais en 2004, on les retrouvaient encore en tête de trains P (pour les 16) et d'IC pour les 20.

La 1605 arrive à Bruxelles-Nord avec le train P 7402 en provenance de Welkenraedt en tête d'une rame de voitures M4 non modernisées tandis que la 2016 est en tête d'une rame des toutes récentes (à l'époque) M6 en provenance de Luxembourg avec l'IC 2128.

Passengers travelling between #Birmingham and #London Marylebone this weekend are advised of service disruptions due to essential track maintenance. On Sunday 2 March, the railway will be closed between Gerrards Cross and Bicester, and Aylesbury and Bicester. Network Rail is replacing track and improving drainage to enhance reliability for both passenger and freight services. The work will mainly affect Chiltern Railways services, with longer journeys and bus replacements in place. Neil Gaskin of Network Rail apologised for the disruption, stressing the benefits for future services. #Chiltern #Railways urged customers to plan ahead, check for updates, and expect possible bus replacements. The works are crucial for long-term improvements to the rail network.
