April 16, 1945: On this date, the storied German prisoner of war (POW) camp at Colditz Castle was liberated. Established to hold Allied soldiers and airmen who had proven their mettle in escaping from other German camps - the Nazis thought it would be an inescapable POW facility. (Plot twist, it wasn’t.)
If you have a site and don't block or dampen ai scrapers... You have no functioning site now. 
I seen an influx of traffic from these scrapers. Intensely aggressive.
Using #PoW is the right way. You force them to waste compute, but also fail if they can't.

Mar 24, On this date in 1944, the real ‘Great Escape’ occurred when British Commonwealth POWs escaped from the German prisoner of war camp Stalag Luft III.
It was immortalized in the HIGHLY fictionalized 1963 film ‘The Great Escape’ (including among other inaccuracies, the role of Americans in the actual escape.) In the movie, Steve McQueen's character was based on Jerry Sage of the Office of Strategic Services.

"Ukrainians Called for Attention to Prisoners of War" [ ± 1min]

Today in Labor History March 4, 1943: The Battle of Fardykambos began. It was one of the first major battles between the Greek Resistance and the occupying Royal Italian Army, begins. The battle lasted 3 days. The Greeks forced the surrender of an entire Italian battalion and liberated the town of Grevena. The Greek Resistance was one of the strongest anti-fascist resistance movements in Europe during the war. The Communist National Liberation Front, the largest contingent in the Greek Resistance, fought the Italians during the Battle of Fardykambos. As the fighting progressed, local civilians joined in, as did many of the right-wing members of the Greek Resistance. As a result of their victory, they obtained many weapons and took 550 Italians as prisoners of war.

PT Rhyl " Detailed, sympathetic and both gripping and emotional. I had difficulty in not leaping ahead but by and large controlled that urge. The 'Reflections' chapter is a thoughtful way to conclude Williams story. I cannot think of a better way. I see what the author means about the appendices being time consuming. They are also fascinating from my quick read through. So many Polish and Australians as well as Brits, I must find time to read them again."
