#JournalEverything Just had a call from the #physio, they have some cancellations so my appointment has been brought forward from 1610 to 1500. Hopefully on the way to getting these creaky knees sorted out. They are better today of course than they were on Monday when I could only hobble around after a too-long walk around #Ironbridge on Sunday. I usually go into the office on Tuesdays - by #ebike and #train but I really wasn't up to it this week so I worked from home all two and a half days (I'm #PartTime) and lucky I can work #remotely.

Recovering from a cold, all symptoms gone except a little dry cough. Started to suspect that it might be #functional / #psychogenic as I noticed that I only coughed when my attention wasn't occupied by other things.

Delighted to easily find plenty of #nhs #physio advice online on how to suppress functional coughs. All very non-stigmatising, just very straightforward info. Cough not gone but nearly, enough to be allowed back in the bedroom (I was waking the toddler up by coughing!)

God bless the NHS 💙🌈

My neck has been ridiculously tight for a couple of weeks despite all the physio, massage, and stretching. Right where my whiplash injury happened 25 years ago. But last night, while sitting on the chesterfield, something went SNAP in there, and now it's vastly improved. My range of motion in my right arm is much better. I don't know what snapped or why it did, and I don't know why it helped, but it did. @Knightky says the huge knot that was in my traps is also mostly gone. What could it have been? #PainInTheNeck #neck #whiplash #physio #recover

Ouchy!

Resistance bands workout, lower body fine, no issue.
Get to ones that involve a lot of shoulder movement, "oh, that hurts, shit, think I might pass out".

Sit down, now it feels like someone is stabbing needles into the base of my neck and between my shoulder blades - thats new.

Time for a shower, and then the physio exercises that I am meant to be doing, instead of torturing myself with resistance bands 😉

Day 28 of #30DaysWild #Nature #UK

Today is 4 weeks and 3 days since I had a #TKR (total knee replacement).

I've rested to let my body heal, I've worked at my #physio exercises, gone to classes at the hospital, done my homework.

I know we are all part of nature, but today I really *felt* it, both emotionally & physically.

Today I experienced a little of how a bird might feel on fledging: I felt the wind on my face as I drove again 🥰

Just two streets, to visit a dear friend who supports me throughout, to beam and shriek and babble, "I did it! I flew!"

NB: If I could choose active travel, I would, but chronic conditions limit my mobility.

Day 11 of #30DaysWild #Nature #UK

I was trying to take my mind off the pain of #physio earlier by scrolling on my phone.

Apart from attending a #bat talk, I haven't really got involved because bat detectors aren't cheap & I have limited mobility.

However, this Sunset Survey popped up in my IG feed - it can be done from a window :)

I had my surgical review yesterday and my first physio appointment today.

Both the surgeon and the physio are super happy with the progress of my shoulder. They're both surprised by how much movement I've gotten back already, and the physio said that her best guess is that I could get full range and strength back in about 6 to 9 months.

I'm aiming for 3 months 😆
