This period was a nightmare for technical persons building computers. At that point in time I was building computers with a frequency of about 6 to 12 per day. The operating systems were put in afterwards.

Imagine the following nightmare scenario; at the certain point in time within the period of guarantee client calls with the message that the computer just stops working. The client has done everything that's needed to protect it; UPS, grounded outlets, ground resistance between .5 ohms and 1.2 ohms
Good UPS APC were good ones at that point in time.

Computers come in and after a while it's easy to see what happened because all the Elco's were dead, all of them!

Anyone need some split core current transformers?

Up until about five years ago, I worked for an energy metering company. They did a warehouse cleanup and got rid of tons of material, including hundreds of CTs for AC current measurement. I snagged all of those (and used some for my own home metering) but I still have probably 200 floating around.

I've got split cores rated for 50A up to 6000A or so, and physical sizes from about 1/2" ID to 8" ID (the larger ones are flexible rope style). Mostly rated for 0-333mV AC output but there may be some oddballs in there (like 0-500mV, maybe a couple 4-20mA).

I need to clear up some space, so I was thinking $20 plus shipping per CT, maybe with a bulk discount if you get five or more? Some of these retail for $100+ so if I have something you need it could be a good deal! Most of these are lightly used in a testing environment.

Also found this thing. Not sure what it is! Presumably another T-40 tractor part. It has three pipes, a control arm that turns about 120 degree with a hole for fitting a lever. There's some Russian label that's partially rubbed off. Wife said something about a motor but she's not sure.

Don't know what the square fitting on the end is, just noticed that in the picture. Maybe an input shaft, which would make it a pump? But too light for a pump and too big for a valve 🤷
