My sleep is being stranger than normal

My sleep pattern has never been what you would call “normal”. My body clock belongs in a world with a 25-hour to 26-hour day. I get tired at odd hours. Most friends and family have come to accept that this is just part of who I am.

Lately, though, I’ve been non-sleepy for periods in excess of 24 hours. Arround tenish yesterday I found myself nodding off at the computer so I went to bed.

Could I sleep?

Nope.

Part of that was gluteal muscle pain on the left side but part was also that I was suddenly wide awake. I’ve been awake all last night and I still feel fine.

I’m not worried yet but I do feel like I am missing my usual mental sharpness. The funny thing is that I find it so much easier to just be content with whatever. Maybe because, without sleep, I lack the sharpness of mind to get stuck into a coding or creative project. Is this what “normal” people feel like?

I’m awake early, not because of excitement; I’m low-key dreading today. No, I am awake because today is a pain day. I’m hoping the waking stiffness lifts.

In unrelated news, I went to the NASS website thinking I’d use the shop to replace my good/okay/bad day wrist bands. Shop is gone. Found some wholesalers but not sure if I want to buy/sell that many bands just to get mine.

Is that a good idea?

Anyway, Happy Christmas, I guess.

Imagine the #trolleyproblem, but instead of 5 vs. 1 people it is cows and chickens suffering and causing #climatechange vs. you gaining a slightly higher #risk of #cancer. That's how I feel when people say "#meatreplacements do not taste the same, look at the #NutriScore, I want the original." #okay.

But the most exciting thing about the meat replacements industry will be exploring the space of possible creations between poultry/pork/beef that no human has tasted yet.

I guess he doesn’t know the 19th-century origin of “ok” being a silly abbreviation of “oll korrect” which was then transliterated to “okay.” The abbreviation definitely predates cell phones. But whatever. “Okay” is ok, too.
