Yesterday afternoon around 5. We didn't get power back until 1:30 this morning, but no damage to our (top floor) apartment. I haven't been out to see the cars yet.
But we are safe and stuff is just stuff.

@matthewtrask Power has been out for over 2 hours now. According to NES, it looks like most of the city is out of power.
We’re ok, but more severe weather and a tornado warning just now. Might have more later, really depends on the direction this storm moves. It came up so fast just now! I wasn’t expecting it and my phone basically lit up with warning messages. #Nashville
Tornado spotted in East Nashville. Send good thoughts to @matthewtrask and everyone else who lives there.
My power is out, but we’re not in the path of the tornado.
Tornado warnings are terribly inconvenient
but probably less so than tornadoes
There was a decent turnout today in Nashville, Tennessee, for a deep red state. The wide shot shows the width of the crowd, which is the circumference of a circle of people surrounding a small amphitheater.
A briskish (9'07" per km) on today's 14.2km/8.8mi walk. The temp wasn't brisk at 23C/73F nor was the heart rate at a moderately light 104 BPM (69%).
I'm calling it exercise anyway.

Political rant of the day. So last weekend I heard Elizabeth Warren was planning to come to Nashville for a rally. Yay! I signed up. There's of course also a big protest tomorrow from 12-2. I figured Warren would appear either before or after the protest. No. Warren is speaking at 2 at a different venue than the protest and people are supposed to get in line by at least 1, earlier if you want a good seat. WTF. I'm so annoyed I'm going to an event in a different city. I will refrain from smart ass comments about Democratic leadership. I feel bad for the local organizers because they scheduled their protest weeks ago. #uspol #Nashville
If it wasn't for the 92% humidity, today's 14.1km/8.8mi walk would have been quite nice at 17C/63F. A comfortable 9'23" per km and a chill lightly moderate 106 BPM (71%).
Only saw 1 tree and a few limbs down, but there was water and mud everywhere. Might or might not rain today. Might or might not be severe weather.

I'm tired.
Last night's tornadic weather had me sheltering in my closet at about 2:50 am. I never got back to sleep. The constant alerts going off on my phone, the recorded/automated emergency weather alert calls...I feel beaten down.
And right now we have tornado warnings southwest of Nashville, and now I just heard a storm is rolling in.
Please.
I just want to sleep.
But there's a lot more on the way, so it's going to be a long evening.
The warning has been canceled, and we're safe. That went just to the south of us. I'm not sure right now what damage it caused or whether anyone was hurt.
It's now entering my area. A warning was just issued, and the tornado sirens are going off. The shape is still holding on the radar, as it gets closer to me.
FWIW if you're in #Nashville and looking for #weather stuff on the fediverse, the NWS Nashviie office is syndicated by a bot here, and is probably my favorite source of professional information:
@iembot_ohx
Also the local fav NashSevereWX is *still* not on the fediverse, but for the momenet you could use @nashseverewx which is one way but better than the broken Twitter gateways.
I was up until 5am huddled in my basement, as multiple radar-indicated and some observed tornadoes went through my area last night. It was not fun.
Just now, a new tornado watch has been issued for our area, so we're gearing up for round two.
(My family is safe.)
