As far as I understand from this article [https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/22525-gonadotropin-releasing-hormone], GnRH basically stimulates biological hormone production (testosterone & LH in biological men; progesterone and estrogen in biological women [https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/22255-luteinizing-hormone]). If melatonin reduces GnRH production to such a level that it may even be used as a contraceptive, I cannot help but wonder, if any of you remember any supplementary (gender affirming) effects if you have taken melatonin before or during replacement hormone therapy?

A new study: Examining gender-specific mental health risks after gender-affirming surgery: a national database study is being used by right-wing outlets to imply that gender-affirming care causes worse mental health outcomes. This includes a certain bog-vole who xeeted it out from his xitter account.

The study doesn't find this, only that people who seek gender-affirming care have worse mental health (by some metrics) than those who don't. There are also some methodological issues with the study.

My medical student friend is writing the journal about both the methodological issues, and the harm the study is causing due to its wording.
