In the Netherlands most of the forrests are maintained by the state forestry department. In this picture you can see it very clearly, the sharp line of trees at the side of the field is one of the most clear one I've ever seen here. Because I'm standing on top of a small hill, it has become a surreal picture with a hard treeline and soft forrest towards the back.

A somewhat moody picture. the colors are mainly gray, brown and darkgreen. A sharp treeline in front with birchtrees. The sharp treeline is a result of maintaining by the state forestry department. Because the photographer Drenthograaf is standing on a small hill, you can see over the treetops to the back. Here you see pinetrees piking to the layers of fog

East Harbor Bridge Frankfurt - Commute - Osthafenbrücke Frankfurt - Pendeln

I tried to make a virtue out of necessity when taking the photo. On that day, I had set myself the task of photographing only with a 40mm fixed focal length. This was an unusual focal length range for me and, due to the lack of zoom, I had to constantly work my way through the scene and engage with the location more than usual.

At the end of this process, it was clear to me that I would no longer try to hide the bridge construction, but integrate it as a layer in the picture (the diagonal steel bands). this seems logical to me, as the striking bridge strongly characterizes the entire area through its architecture/construction and gives it a face.

as my pictures are usually quite reduced in content, i found it a bit difficult to like it at first. now i love it very much because of the different layers and my eye doesn't get bored exploring the scene. maybe your eye will enjoy it too.
