The Hue lights were organized in the Hue app.
When I added the Hue integration to Home Assistant, Home Assistant confirmed the rooms for the lights nicely in one screen.
However, when accessing the Hue lights via Home Assistant in Apple Home and Google Home, the lights are not organized by room. It’s a giant mess that makes the Apple|Google Home app unusable for anything but voice access with Siri|Gemini.
I’m still using the Hue hub, not the ZBT-1/Zigbee yet.
So I have this Phillips #hue smart plug which controls some of the light in the living room. Hue tells me, in no uncertain terms, that the plug CANNOT be reached, so stop trying. At the same time it also tells me that the plug is in the "on" state.
If I click on the plug it vibrates an angry "no, why are you trying to do this, I'm unreachable". If I click the switch it turns on and off.
I use hue as the zigbee network for my #homeassistant - mostly because I had it first and haven't gotten around to moving the network. So home assistant also knows that this is unreachable and of course doesn't try to turn it on when I use my switches.
WTF?!

Does anyone know where I can find info on the Hue/Saturation/Value node for Blender?
I'm trying to find what the different values mean:
Specifically, what Number of Hue means what Colour.
I can find lots of pictures of circles, but no numbers on them.
Is there a simple way to know what numbers to use, or do I have to spend a year training my intuition?

Not sure if I have OCD or if I’m just trying to move all my #Hue devices over to #HomeAsssistant . #ifyouknowyouknow
I am irrationally gleeful today because I replaced a #Philips #Hue Bridge v2's power adapter with a USB-A-to-2.5mm-barrel cable.
Now I just plug in the USB-A cable to my new #Anker Prime Charger, 200W 6-Port #GaN Charging Station.
So, I've replaced 4 devices' power supplies with cables that plug into this sweet charging station. A Hue hub, my #Hubitat hub, and two 15w #Apple power supplies for my #HomePod minis.
Now awaiting the cables (USB-A-to-2.1mm-barrel) for my two Eufy Homebase 2's!!
20 Seconds and it was paired with the Dimmer Switch. Well.
But now I have this thing and have no use for it. Thanks to Christmas I can send it back until January 31.
If I have no idea what to use it for, it goes back. 18€ just to pair a bulb is a bit expensive.
In 2020 was last time I visited Hue Vietnam. Love the city. The history and food simply wonderful. Seem to be thinking a lot of Vietnam these days.
Ok, you've convinced me to buy the Dimmer Switch for this.
Maybe I find use for it. If not, I pair the lamp and send it back.
I have no time to fight with a light bulb.
Bulbs from #PhilipsHue are definitely the worst when it comes down to pairing.
Wanted to re-pair an old Hue bulb because I never brought in into #HomeAssistant and forgot about it.
Official instructions? 5 times on and off for 5 seconds each. When it worked the bulb blinks.
This is successful pretty often, but not every time. I sat there for 5 Minutes and turned this thing on 5 seconds, off 5 seconds, on 5 seconds, off 5 seconds, on 5 seconds, off 5 seconds… Nothing. It's so annoying.
But there's a second way: "Buy more hardware from Philips. The dimmer switch can bring a bulb into pairing mode too! Maybe… But please buy it!"
I'm about to drive to IKEA to buy a Tradfri bulb and live with the slight difference in color.
The today’s problem in my #homelab was a Philips Hue Hub. After moving to the new place all accessories become unreachable. Resetting and pairing them back didn’t helped as the Hub was not able to connect to any of them. After factory resetting the Hub I recalled about ZigBee channels. Turns out channel switching was all I needed. Looks like channel 25 is too busy here.
Nogen der har erfaring med Hue Festavia lyskæde til udendørs brug? Nyeste udgave skulle være egnet til det også. Er det kvalitet der holder eller kender du til nogle gode udendørs lyskæder - de behøver ikke være “smarte”.
Anyone got any experience using Hue Festivia outdoors? Is it good quality that lasts? Or do you know of any similar good string light products - doesn't have to be "smart”.

i just realized that while expensive, the #Hue bulbs have the longest and most reliable lifespans of any bulb i have used. the tuya bulbs, the meross ones, they're much less expensive but are also less reliable in my experience. i can't seem to get one of my kids' lights to work in Home, it's a mess and i think i need to reset the firmware of this whole house. like a techorcism maybe?
I finally found a Reddit post with the solution. Set the #Hue Bridge up has a #HomeKit device again, instead of #Matter.
I'm not convinced there isn't something wonky in my network setup that conflicts with Matter devices. But the HomeKit setup Just Works™ so that's that.

I've spent most of the day trying to fix an issue of using #Hue lights in #HomeKit after enabling #Matter on the hue bridge. This was a bad decision.
My phone (iOS 18 release) can add the bridge to HomeKit, and see the attached lights, but my Mac (still Sonoma) and iPad (also iOS 18 release) can't. I can't for the life of me figure out what is different between my devices. Same network config etc.
I'm in the process of completely resetting the hub and hoping for a miracle.
Smart home, my ass.
