Why yes, I did make almost exactly the same thing for lunch today. Asha noodles, broccoli parboiled in the noodle water, crispy egg, scallions and some gochujang mayo they had at the awesomest food pantry up in Skagit county. Super spicy since the monsters just had PB&J for lunch today.

One thing I like as much as mothing is trying to recreate #takeaway as #fakeaway. We love Nepalese food and so, for #Vegan Wednesday (is that a thing?) I had a bash at some ghee-free Nepalese *style* dishes that we often order.

Made 4 #dinner dishes:

Split pea dal tadka, farsi takari (a kind of butternut squash stew), aloo methi potatoes and, of course, my easy peasy naan bread. Enough leftover to enjoy it all again tomorrow!

Tonight we’re having gussied up top ramen with garlic honey carrots and poached eggs. My monsters are helping with food prep, so I’m feeling lucky there’s no blood in these sliced carrots tonight. Definite improvement in technique though: peeling required no correction and we’re starting to use the left knuckle to guide slices! Just starting with water in pots, carrots steaming and noodle water getting to temp.

Dinners are planned for the week, and not one of them uses chicken.

(I went a little off the rails last week.)

Venison brats
Crockpot picadillo
Taiwanese braised minced pork
Seasoned pork tenderloin
Swordfish with scampi butter

And I don't have to go to the store. Technically. I might, tomorrow or Wednesday, but I needn't go today. (The wind is wild out there.)
