The European Union has notified Meta its “pay or consent” model for Facebook and Instagram might violate consumer protection laws. The EU’s Consumer Protection Cooperation Network says the company has until September 1st, 2024, to propose changes to its model, which it calls “misleading” and “confusing” for users, or face potential fines

Norway is banning «Shinigami Eyes» after a complaints from WDI Norge a terf organisation that operates in Norway with assistance from Electronic Frontier Norway which is very surprising to me.

Datatilsynet states that:

"We believe that «Shinigami Eyes» has no legal basis for the processing of personal data, and we therefore intend to impose a ban on the browser extension in Norway"

Has anyone seen anything like this before?
