Today's sun (3:04 PM) and tonight's moon (6:38 PM). I'm a big fan of a thin crescent!

Both shot with the same basic gear: SkyWatcher 72ED + 2.25x Barlow + QHY 168C. Moon was captured with an Optolong L-Quad and Sun with a Thousand Oaks solar film.
The two-day old crescent moon, brilliant Venus above, and faint Mercury below...
...and the progression of evening twilight.
First photo is taken during the 'blue hour'
In the second photo the planets sink closer to the horizon and some red hues appear in the bottom of the frame.
The third photo is almost in full night, but some dark red is still there along the bottom of the frame.

Two planets and the 1-day old crescent moon as seen from the Sacramento mountains of southern New Mexico.
Mercury is near the top. Faint Saturn is near the bottom...see 2nd image for a closeup crop. Note that I artificially boosted Saturn's brightness.

On the evening of the 28th I'll try to get a view of the 1-day-old crescent moon near Mercury. That will be a bit of a challenge shortly after sunset. (Venus is super bright and high...a helpful guide to where to look) See screenshot.
1 March, the moon will be much easier to see, and close to brilliant Venus.
I use Stellarium software to figure out which evenings have interesting groupings of the moon and bright planets.
That weather forecast...that's often the sticky wicket.

@thomas a #gramophone lover from #Bristol ? you maybe know the band #Movietone and its male version #Crescent ? They are gramophone lovers.
Last night's moon! It was pretty windy out as I was setting up the gear, but the EQ6-R stayed steady and captured some frames on the moon and then some other objects afterwards without incident.

A 2-1/2 day old crescent moon, and Saturn, float among the stars of Aquarius in evening twilight.
Saturn is the brightest 'star' in the upper left portion of the frame.
Top center of the frame is the star φ Aquarii.
A few other stars of Aquarius are visible, including some that are very close to the moon's disk.

The moon is slowly filling in at 19% illuminated. This image was from the night of January 4th.

This is the least illuminated moon I've managed to capture so far! I had to wait a bit for the clouds to clear, but I'm quite happy with this shot taken before it was even dark.

That's as much railways as I'll get on this trip.
Max. three trains on certain days.
Tonight's crescent moon in near infrared. (7 December)
...and Saturn was nearby, so a quick photo. This is not too bad for a 900mm lens of mediocre quality. Note that I have boosted the visibility of the moon Titan.
