No #Democrats are running in the #clerk's race so #Grot will run unopposed in the Nov general #election.

Grot is 1 of 16 #Republicans in the state facing #felony charges for signing a certificate falsely stating that #Trump won #Michigan's 2020 election. He still maintains he has "done nothing wrong," which he said will be proven once the #legal proceedings take place.

Grot's wife, Sylvia Grot, also won her primary for a 2nd term in the Dist 3 seat on the Macomb County BOC.

Stanley #Grot, who faces #criminal charges for signing a certificate falsely stating that #Trump won MI's 2020 #election, will stay in office.

In the #Republican primary for #clerk, Grot was challenged by 3 other R candidates & won w/ 51.6% of the vote. Business owner Jon Robinson had 23.4%, engineer Grant Golasa had 11.4% & Pamela Ulrich (who dropped out of the race) had 13.6%.

Constitutional legal experts who study the religious right say the anti-abortion movement’s best chance of keeping unpopular abortion bans on the books is through its growing 🔸network of conservative attorneys and judges 🔸cultivated by ADF and allied Christian law firms and law schools.
ADF has employed and trained thousands of like-minded conservative Christian attorneys,
some of whom have climbed the highest rungs of power,

Trump & his attys haven’t been suddenly forced into an exigent situation.

Judge #Engoron & his staff (incl’g his #clerk) have been adjudicating the Trump #civil #law #financial #fraud case for >3 yrs.

#Trump had posted on his social media platform a different user's IG post showing #Engoron's #LawClerk at an event where she posed w/Sen Maj Ldr Chuck Schumer. The IG post questioned why she was "palling around" w/Schumer.

Trump's post went farther, referring to the #clerk as "Schumer’s girlfriend" & said she "is running this case against me. How disgraceful! This case should be dismissed immediately."

And - of course - again, during the lunch break, #Trump slammed the judge's #LawClerk (another civil servant targeted by TFG)

Trump blasted Judge Arthur #Engoron's #law #clerk on #socialmedia shortly before the lunch break, & then amplified the #attack in brief remarks to reporters afterwards.

(So presumably he posted the first attack while in the courtroom in the presence of his lawyers)
