@pezmico Vaxed 8 times so far, masked with N95 whenever going outside. I had ONE cold — professionally tested NEGATIVE for #COVID19 by PCR (at a testing site, NOT a home test) — early in the pandemic when I couldn't yet get N95s and made do with baggy blue "surgical" masks. Since I started wearing N95s, I have had ZERO respiratory infections of ANY kind. This virus is NOT invincible. #ZeroCOVID

Accompanied my Mom to doctor's appointment this morning. This was mainly for getting another prescription for her recurring gout issue. She got a physical checkup too. Her doctor & his MOA were masked up. None of the other medical clinic staff & no other patients were masked.

Location of masking report: Burnside Medical Clinic - office in lower part of building - there's a different office with same name on main level.

I blast highway to hell, almost every time I have to go to hospital for work or personal related reasons. It's hellish for #ZeroCovid disabled folks like me because our hospitals aren't really covid safe & they haven't been safe for a few years now. It is where Dad & big Auntie were infected. Mask policy returned to hospitals recently but almost all staff just wear the flimsy surgical blue masks. I wear my own N95s & use a nasal spray for additional protection.
I'll be playing highway to hell again at 10am because I have to go to VGH for a client meeting.

Unmasked colleague at LTC today, while I was walking out with my plant gift:
Why do so many people always gift you pretty things?

Me: I'm a genuinely kind, caring & thoughtful person. I don't work unmasked around anyone, especially vulnerable elderly folks. That's probably why you never get any gifts.
*Pointing to her unmasked face*
*invisible mic drop*

Reaction: Stunned into silence as I continued to walk out of the building.

She probably thinks I'm a total bitch now 😆
Oh well. She asked. I just answered, honestly 👌

I've just been informed that I need to find a new server if I want to write very long posts, so I'm looking for one. Since I'm #ZeroCOVID, I'm wondering whether zeroes.ca might be suitable. But I'm also from the USA. Does that server welcome members from this meth lab of a nation?

All of your political 'heroes' will be dead or disabled by #LongCovid or just #Covid in general because none of them are #CovidCautious & campaigning in massive #unmasked crowds.

Fucking criminal. Fucking shitass brains. Fucking #EugenicsEnablers. Fucking ignorant, selfish #PlagueSpreaders.

If you feel offended - you are fucking guilty of being a #eugenics enabler. Mask the fuck up.

The first #COVID19 #data released by the #BritishColumbia for #Disease Control since the official end of the province's #PublicHealthEmergency shows #hospitalizations decreasing, but still near their highs for the year.

There were 175 test-positive #COVID patients in #BChospitals as of Thursday, according to the #BCCDC. That's down from 204 at the start of last month, but still the fourth-highest total of 2024, and more than double the 76 people #hospitalized at this time last year.

The BCCDC's most recent update showed 368 new, lab-confirmed #COVIDinfections in the province, though that number significantly #underestimates the spread of the #virus because most people in the province do not qualify for lab-based testing.

From @thetyee

Gregory said the database is a good idea for some diseases, in particular for some vaccines that do protect people from infection. But when it comes to COVID-19, he said, the vaccine doesn’t prevent transmission.

“Relying on vaccinations as the measure of whether people are likely or not to transmit [COVID] to vulnerable patients is a very dangerous strategy,” Gregory said.

Instead, he added, it would be best if everyone wore masks in public health settings whenever possible.

Mitigation measures such as properly worn N95s, HEPA air filtration, ventilation and avoiding high-risk areas like indoor crowded spaces are “all variant proof,” Gregory said. “No variant has evolved to circumvent an N95.”
