4/3. Is it easy for you to kill characters? When is it the right thing to do?

It varies. The bad guys get killed left, right, and center. Well, a few of them, anyway.
There needs to be a purpose in the plot.

Further, this is horror. Lingering beyond death in one of those nebulous, wasting states is far more horrible than simple death. I prefer insanity and suffering.

4/2. Assuming it’s possible in your world, how does your MC react when their parents call?

It’s the American West in the 1840’s.

Assuming it’s possible…

In Book I, this is one of Diane’s concerns: what happened to her parents? She’s pretty confident, but she was a child. If they “called” it might be something Diane might had been hoping for in her quest to understand the uncanny.

3/31. SC POV: What's your idea of a romantic evening?

Mr. Ross would love to be able to relax and have someone else cook, clean, and look after the animals in the mission where he — and MC’s — live. Simply being able to relax while someone else made sure everything was in order and done properly would be a wonderful thing for him.

Watching an episode of The Rifleman guest starring a young Dennis Hopper playing totally against type as a shy, soft spoken young man who is an ace with a pistol (that last part is less against type from the rabid gun nut that was RL Hopper)

3/30. What do your characters get nostalgic about? What triggers that?

That’s part of a character arc in Book I. Diane has recollections of family life before — well — before an uncanny event she witnessed (or was part of) as a child. It’s not clear what happened. And the search for the uncanny keeps those recollections haunting her.

**3/29**. What superpower would best suit your MC, in the context of their story?

Amy would love to have the power to contain Diane’s rage. It wouldn’t work out well because sometimes a bold — more-or-less insane — approach yields results where something more thoughtful wastes time and effort.

3/28. What gives your characters a sense of self-worth or meaning in their life?

The MCs have embraced a religious pilgrimage as their life’s work. This provides a profound sense of self-worth for them and some of the SCs. For some of the MCs it’s also penance for sins they’ve committed

3/27. What small precious memento does a character keep on their person? What makes it precious?

That’s a great pitch for book II. This is a very big deal for the MC's. It’s difficult to write a summary that isn’t essentially the plot for the book.

Secrets unfold that hint at an uncanny cause for the deaths of cowboys on a ranch high in the hills over the Green River. Two nuns try to locate the cause and uncover truths about themselves.
