I am thankful for change. As I read, listen and watch the news unfolding around the world. I am horrified by some, angry, frustrated, even stressed by much of it but it wont last. Truly it's not sustainable, for nothing but the flow of change is consistent.

If you ever need a mental shift into positive change, seek to be near flowing water. Let the beauty of nature wash away your worries, carrying them downstream through the current of change. Change is always coming, so be ready to support that which you hope to see.

Dueling Waterfalls

Our ferry sails through the calm blue-green waters of Geirangerfjord. The channel is flanked by steep, (treed) green cliffs, punctuated by waterfalls. There are two waterfalls on opposing banks. On this day we're under dark skies, so colours are a bit muted. Geiranger Fjord is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular fjords in Norway. Having gone into four fjords, I would agree.

some highlights for #ThickTrunkTuesday

in front of a waterfall, a moss-covered tree root hovers about six inches over a flowing creek - likely the creek eroded the dirt beneath the roots, and the upper branches of neighboring trees kept the thing suspended in place

the inside bit of some peeled tree bark with two horizontal holes in the center, from which radiate many lines of termite eating through the bark in an almost calligraphic style

$a fractured end of a log that appears to have been cut more with an axe than a chainsaw, with a dappled black and brown pattern over its surface, and moss on the far bark$

a number of degraded partially skeletal maple leaves lay over a patchy brown jigsaw-barked tree trunk
