Steven Kennard PhotographyKarlsruhe Castle at night - before the renovations Since I took this image in 2010, the castle grounds have been renovated and the fountain no longer exists. All of the landscaping in front of the castle has been changed. Geoffrey GiebelhausYesterday I had a discussion with a group of photographers around the various film stocks we've come to prefer. Murray LivingstonStorm Jocelyn Lands, Isle of Harris (2024). We waited a good few hours at this spot, hoping that the oncoming storm would create enough sea swell to crash dramatically over this giant rock. The tide eventually came in at sunset, and we got a symphony of conditions — waves, light, and a double rainbow! Geoffrey GiebelhausAt the time, I couldn't find a single image of this place that wasn't just a snapshot. I probably wasn't the first, but I'm positive I was one of them. Since then a neighborhood has been developed nearby, a 3D image published to maps with a pin, and the spot found by the influencer crowds. It's a shame seeing the state of the area now. Geoffrey GiebelhausFrom on of my favorite local parks, this is just one of three impressive waterfalls that can be photographed here. It's a truly gorgeous location to explore.
