I just did the maths and realised I've spent £101.89 on flashbulbs during late-night eBay sessions this weekend.

I should not have done the maths.

(It works out at about 60p a bulb, if anyone's curious. This is a completely ludicrous pursuit.)

December 1962: A body of water, a road, a tunnel and interesting geology. Any idea where in the world?

Today was a bit odd.

Did over 27,000 steps according to my phone, covered a whole lot of ground, barely took any photos at all. Both of these have the dimmest viewfinders known to man; I should have just taken the Leica.

(Or, alternatively, sourced an M42 lens that had a larger aperture than f/4.5.)

Erin/Hartford Wisconsin, July 1936. This is a shot / reverse shot from the corner that at one time had a church, a gas station, and a restaurant further down.

The church is still there but apparently closed. The restaurant is still there. The gas station has been razed.

11/20/1959: the birthday girl in blue poses with a ceramic cat she received as a gift.

Who she is? No clue yet. Location: probably Milwaukee, WI. Beyond that, no clue yet.

The last third of this box of slides is truly mysterious and is refusing to give up many of its secrets.
