Post-rock band Tortoise released a single this week titled "Oganesson," a jazzy krautrock-ish number. It's their first new track in nine years! New album or EP of some sort to come "soon."

But now, all of that has changed, as the band has just released its first new music in nearly a decade.</p><p>"Oganesson" is out now, with a video animated by Rob Shaw. Watch/listen below:</p><figure class="kg-card kg-embed-card"></figure><p>Tortoise formed in 1990, and were early purveyors of the "post-rock" sound, although their music incorporated several intersecting genres. Their self-titled debut record came out in 1994, and featured Dan Bitney, Bundy K. Brown, John Herndon, Douglas McCombs and John McEntire. I know that Gopher Tortoises are cantankerous beasties, but this one in particular seems to be reveling in my frustration that it dug a burrow right by my front door. Really, my guy? REALLY?
