Hikers of Mastodon! Who’s done Offa’s Dyke? I’m wondering how reasonable walking from Monmouth to the southern end in 12 hours is. Don’t mind about missing seeing the sites, I’m just about local enough I can go back and see them properly
On the Shropshire side of Offa's Dyke, it was once believed that the landmark was a furrow, cut through the landscape on a single night by The Devil. To do this, Owd Scratch used a plough, pulled by a gander and a turkey!
Late or early? With a nod to @LakesStiles #SnecklifterTuesday #FingerpostFriday #OffasDyke
Walkers are Welcome Town - Kington
Friendly and relaxed with a network of trails, medieval walled alleyways and intriguing buildings, Kington is a great place to explore and hang out. Boots and backpacks are commonplace and lying in the Welsh Marches, it has more long distance paths converging on a town of its size than anywhere else in the UK.
Walkers are most definitely welcome in Kington.
