Above Lordenshaw, near Rothbury, enjoying the views, and the rock-art. I'd say "not a cloud in the sky" but there is one, if you look carefully! #Northumberland #Hiking

Spring at Lilburn Tower, Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland.
A strange rainy but sunny chilly but warm spring day.
The castle was finally smashed up in the war of the roses I believe.
Bit nippy on the legs for the ride in this morning, but that's what I get for being lazy and not putting proper motorbike trousers on. But it's dry and sunny, and I'll warm up quickly, and I've taken the risk of parking right outside the office again to save time.
This morning’s ramble up the lane brought daffodils and very new lambs!

A final shot (for now!) from yesterday's walk, near Gallow Hill, between Aydon and Corbridge. I've photographed these trees before, but the last time was on a frosty, misty day; in black and white! #Photography #Northumberland
This easy walk along the River South Tyne banks passes impressive Featherstone Castle and spectacular Lambley Viaduct and through the village of Lambley with its attractive church. Good bluebell display in season. Details at https://www.happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Northumberland/RowfoottoLambley/Hiking%20Pages%20-%20Rowfoot%20to%20Lambley.htm

Aydon Castle usually opens from April onwards, and is only viewable from outside the walls at present. Half-manor, half-castle, it's in a great location... although if you dislike the smell of wild garlic, you might want to avoid the dene behind the castle! #Northumberland #Castle #Photography

It's been a long time living in the North East to have never visited Corbridge! Just a brief wander today - I walked down from Aydon Castle to the river. #Northumberland #RiverTyne #Photography

A view from inside the 'Flock Sphere' sculpture by Rob Mulholland, part of the Amble Sculpture Trail in Northumberland, North East England. The artist describes this as an 'immersive' experience and I can vouch for that. Climb inside through a small opening and take in a different view of the coastal landscape – it's impressive!

If you're somewhere near Northumberland, UK, and need a "project" motorbike to keep you busy over the summer, then have I found a deal for you:

Disclaimer: yes, he's a friend of mine. Yes, that description is accurate. Yes, his wife would appreciate the flowers, although they might end up on his grave if he doesn't get shot of that motorbike soon.

The weather is much better than expected today, and we saw our first lambs whilst we were out! No photo, as they were away across the field.

Same #Northumberland location as yesterday, Cawfields Quarry, but this one taken with a real camera! #Photography #Lake #SonyA7C2
A beautiful assemblage of lichens on the base of the cross which stands on the pool of the Holy Well at Holystone, Northumberland. This has been a site of religious significance for centuries, maybe on account of the spring water coming from the local sandstone, noted for it's purity. More info in alt text.
