I know what their NASDAQ handle is, but #NVDA is much more widely known as the name of the screen reader we make and the #NVDA hashtag is very widely used for the screen reader. if i had the means i would build a hypervisor and an #nvidia datacenter GPU i could carve out into 6-24GB GPUs to attach directly to virtual machines for AI compute, gaming, and media transcoding. on the transcode part i have a Tesla card that could handle a shitload of streams without flinching, it's gaming and AI compute that i really need and those GPUs are like 5K so i have to consider a hypervisor with 3 slots for GPUs 😬 cc: @ducksauz

Finally figured out the #nvidia #linux problem on my laptop that has been plaguing me at a number of my recent talks! Thanks to whoever made the comment about power management, because that was in fact exactly it: closing my laptop lid was crashing CUDA.

There is following workaround possible: sudo rmmod nvidia_uvm sudo modprobe nvidia_uvm This could be automated in an event script however it is not helping if there are applications running already which depend on CUDA connection. The initial nova-core driver stub was merged to #Linux mainline for #LinuxKernel 6.15[1].

#Nova is going to be a #kernel driver for #Nvidia's modern GPUs written in #Rustlang. It is the successor of the #Nouveau kernel driver and serve as base for drivers like #NVK.

The core driver stub is not really useful for anything yet. But that should change soon – and I guess will be the turning point that'll sell #Rust for Linux to the world. 🥳
