Ah ja die Emails unseres Bundesparlaments sind auch in #Microsoft Rechenzentren der Schweiz gehostet. Nur spielt der Standort eben keine grosse Rolle, wie Hubert ausführt.

There's no way I'm ever going to install a proprietary OS on my computers again. Even though gaming is one of my main hobbies, with Wine and Proton being in the state they are, I have absolutely no major problems. And if, for some reason, they will go away in the future, I'll find other ways. I've been using Linux as my main OS since 2005. And yes, it also has been my gaming OS for that long.
I'm already not buying any games from companies that belong to Microsoft anymore. It did hurt me a bit when MS bought Bethesda/Zenimax, but I've found alternatives that are more than feasible. In the end, I don't have the time to play all the games I would like to anyway.

@heiseonline IMHO sind viele Leute inzwischen so konditioniert "all ihre Daten" beim Anlegen irgendeines Accounts aufzugeben, dass sie es garnicht mehr bemerken und das fuer vollkommen normal halten. DIese "Normalitaet" zu durchbrechen ist echt schwierig. Aber #Microsoft und #CptOrange tragen gerade sehr wirkungsvoll dazu bei.

Any #linux buffs had any joy getting Nuance Dragon Professional (PC) working?
I know I can’t do anything about penguining Vellum (Mac only) but the Dragon dictation software is bloody good and both of us use it.
I have an EU software solution for all my other writing needs in Papyrus 12, and got it working on #linuxmint using a flatpack #playonlinux4.
I can keep a Winblows system running for dictation if I have to, but with the USA behaving strangely, I want to have as little reliance on Microsft as possible. They could feasibly just shut all the systems down, couldn’t they?
Not panic, just trying to be prepared. Arthritic fingers work more slowly than dictation.

Booted up my laptop. Got a particularly aggressive full screen ad saying “we ARE upgrading you to windows 11 NOW. It is downloading and we will TELL you when it is time to upgrade” 
Was too tired to do anything about it, but like… can you turn it off? Or has anyone upgraded and found win11 OK? Could you turn off all the shite? Did most your programs still run?
Wanted to go to Linux but can’t afford another machine & AV software etc. Need this laptop to work on
