CDC issues report that Leprosy is now endemic in Florida, after recently calling Malaria endemic in Florida and Texas. The alarming rise in both diseases are testament to both the declining state of Public Health in the U.S., and the rising threat posed by the Climate Crisis.
This exhibition looks great. @emi @chiematsumoto and I were all members of the Social Justice Learning Collective in Japan and one of the exchanges we organized was with people with Hansen's disease (aka leprosy) who were quarantined and jailed for decades. The film, An (Sweat Bean) hints at that history.
