The fun continues (but I will be kind, since I also worked here).

This is me trying to access HMRC online (to update my address etc...).

When I say I assume all my british pension contributions are lost forever, I mean these kind of things 😞

What am I supposed to do now?

Had an excellent two days at #UVUAfrica in Woodstock, #CapeTown.

Yesterday we launched Africa's first City #DataStrategy, and today we had a great workshop led by some excellent experts from orgs such as #OpenCitiesLab, #GDS, #ODI and #eGovFoundation

Check it out - resource.capetown.gov.za/docum

Also, it's just nice to be in a room with my colleagues.

Did you know you can register for a postal vote in like 2 minutes now? gov.uk/apply-postal-vote

No idea when it changed, but last time I tried I needed to fill out paper forms.

If anyone from #GDS see this, can you pass along some compliments to the right team.

Another article on #OpenSource, this time written by Richard Pope, who was one of the founding members of the UK’s #GDS. There is just so much for which governments can benefit by engaging with the open source communities that they use. Furthermore, the government contributing their work back to the public #GitHub or #GitLab repositories makes the code more secure and drives down the costs for #DigitalGovernment.

A new vulnerability was published for Intel CPU (Discovered 1 year ago but kept under secrecy until then). Apparently, downfall attacks allows to leak data across users, VM, etc running on the same CPU core.
A well-written page describing the issue can be found at downfall.page/
Also a paper written by the security researcher @flowyroll is available downfall.page/media/downfall.p
