Kensington Compost Hub<p>One of our composters brought in home-grown white chockos for the compost volunteers. Spectacular looking fruit from a very vigorous plant. Now to decide whether to eat these ones, or start them for planting out this Spring (the compost hub fenceline gets a good 10-hours sun in Summer, so it’s a perfect location). Great to be part of a gifting and sharing economy</p><p><a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/ICAW2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ICAW2024</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/compost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>compost</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/naturesClimateChampion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>naturesClimateChampion</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/KensingtonCompost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KensingtonCompost</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/CommunityComposting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CommunityComposting</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/betterSoilBetterLifeBetterFuture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>betterSoilBetterLifeBetterFuture</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/localFoodSystem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>localFoodSystem</span></a></p>

Kensington Compost Hub<p>A beautiful thing about hyperlocal compost processing is the opportunity for hyper low-emission transport options.</p><p>Our current compost input collection vehicle of choice distributes hundreds of litres of coffee grounds every week, moves nutrients across the neighbourhood compost network as needed.</p><p>All powered by bioenergetic sources (how much can depend on how many cups of coffee were consumed)</p><p><a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/compost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>compost</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/Melbourne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Melbourne</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/KensingtonCompost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KensingtonCompost</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/CommunityComposting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CommunityComposting</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/EarthDayEveryDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EarthDayEveryDay</span></a> <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/localFoodSystem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>localFoodSystem</span></a></p>
