I'm on track to add rust and php/drupal to my job prospects.
(I needed to actually learning them, I'm a poor bullshitter.)

One of the things that interests me about drupal is that #CiviCRM runs
on it. Which I worked on volunteering for the VT Prog Party.

If I didn't get my current fancy international programming job
I'd still have been doing that.
(I kinda felt bad when I did get this job and got too busy to volunteer.)

Basically I am looking to get something way more local and reasonable
and am totally cool with making half or a third of what i make now.

6 is out today!

Should be a seamless upgrade from 5.x but formalises 2 biggish developments:

–*CiviCRM Standalone* () adds user mgmt so you don't need to run it in Backdrop/Drupal/Joomla/WP. Instead can bridge with any CMS, ntm , intranet etc.

–*RiverLea* is the new theme framework I've been working on this last year, enabled on all new installs. It has 4 new more accessible sub-themes –one by @artfulrobot– each with dark mode.

Im Dialog mit ChatGPT.com habe ich das PHP-Script check_civicrm_requirements.php entworfen mit dem Ziel einer einfachen Möglichkeit erkennen zu können, ob eine Installation von CiviCRM (civicrm.org) in einer bestimmten Laufzeitumgebung möglich ist.

Ich halte #CiviCRM für eine der am meisten unterschätzten Softwares, wenn es um politisches Engagement, Organizing, #Parteiarbeit und #politischeVereine geht. Es ist eigentümlich, wie vergleichsweise unbekannt die AGPLv3-lizensierte Software ist. Ein Grund ist die Mächtigkeit der Software, die auf 20 Jahre internationale kollaborative Entwicklung zurückgeht. Es ist zutiefst beeindruckend, welche Organisationen und einzelne Personen des öffentlichen Lebens weltweit seit Jahren damit arbeiten

The next 16 years I spent –when not paying the bills making websites mostly for non-profits, mostly with – doing funded R&D projects trying to figure a way out of this terrible mess. Until one day in 2020, during due diligence on the fifth funded R&D project, installed using , subscribed via my Mastodon, paid myself to watch a film from a browser streaming payments wallet, fingerprinted it with an and 'Eureka' I yelled: they've only gone and built it all! 2025 is 's 20th & maybe biggest year…

In March will be released, the first big version jump in 7 years, marking:
- The launch of - aka CiviCRM without needing Drupal, WordPress, BackDrop or Joomla. There's a vast API to now link with other tools needing ticketing/membership/donations/case-mgmt/reporting/etc.
- (one-click install)
- A new default theme engine.
