Der Balfrin Gipfel mit dem Balfringletscher im letzten Sonnenlicht des Tages. Wir waren auf der gegenüberliegenden Talseite unterwegs und das Abendlicht hat die eingefrohrenen und vergletscherten Bergflanken in magisches Licht getaucht. Die Wolken über den Gipfeln haben ihre Schatten über die Szene gestreut und so hat sich das Balfrin-Massiv in seiner ganzen Schönheit gezeigt. Wer genau hinschaut, der kann im Vordergrund noch die Seetal-Bergstation, unterhalb des Seetalhorns, vom Skigebiet in Grächen erkennen.

The Balfrin summit in the last sunlight of the day. We were on the opposite side of the valley and the evening light bathed the frozen and glaciated mountain flanks in magical light. The clouds above the peaks scattered their shadows across the scene, revealing the Balfrin massif in all its beauty. If you look closely, you can still make out the Seetal mountain station, below the Seetalhorn, from the ski resort in Grächen in the foreground.

Hochalpine Berglandschaft. Berggipfel mit umgebendem Gletscher und Felspartien im Vordergrund. Das Licht ist metallisch-blau, die Abendsonne taucht die Berggipfel in ein fahles Licht. Oberhalb der Berggipfel sieht man dunkle Wolkenfetzen und unterhalb der Gipfel ist - ganz klein - eine Sessellift-Bergstation zu erkennen. --- High alpine mountain landscape. Above the mountain peaks you can see dark wisps of cloud and below the peaks you can see - very small - a chairlift mountain station.

Mondlicht, Niesenlicht, Parklaternenlicht, Zivilisationslichter am anderen Ufer und schliesslich habe ich selber mit der Stirnlampe die Treppe ausgeleuchtet.

Guten Montagmorgen an alle hier!

Gestern war ein kleiner Ausflug ins "Nachbardorf" angesagt. Abendrot und Föhnfische haben für eindrückliche Stimmung gesorgt. Balfrin, Riedgletscher und Nadelgrat vom Norden her gesehen.

Berglandschaft im Wallis: Blauer Himmel mit Föhnfischen über den Berggipfeln des Mischabel-Massivs. Die Berge sind noch eingeschneit, die Baumgrenze unterhalb ist dunkel-braun.
Abendrot über der Mischabelkette, gesehen von Norden her. Man sieht den Balfringipfel, eingeschneit und vergletschert, als auch das Dirruhorn, Hohbärghorn und Stecknadelhorn, wie die Flanken von der letzten Sonne des Tages tief rot gefärbt sind. Im Himmel, über den Berggipfeln sind die Föhnfische ebenfalls ganz mystisch in sanftes Rot eingefärbt.
Berglandschaft: Die eingeschneiten und vergletscherten Berggipfel von Dirruhorn, Hohbärghorn und Stecknadelhorn ziehen sich in einer Reihe dem Riedgletscher entlang. Die Szene ist in sanftes Abendlicht getaucht; das Licht zaubert einzelne Lichtkegel in die Berglandschaft.

A wide, slightly high-angle shot captures a vast mountainous landscape under an overcast sky. In the foreground, dry, golden-brown grasses dominate, slightly blurred. Beyond this, a series of rolling hills and mountains stretch into the distance. The closest mountains are covered in patches of green vegetation and darker evergreen trees. A distinctive, long ridge with a visible path or road running along its top cuts across the mid-ground. Further back, layers of progressively lighter blue-grey mountains fade into the horizon, some with hints of snow on their higher peaks. The sky is a uniform grey, suggesting a cloudy day. The overall impression is one of expansive natural beauty and a sense of remoteness.

Grindelwaldblick
Eigentlich war ich daran, Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau https://pixelfed.social/p/hess_photo/810789642932344025 zu fotografieren, als eine Gruppe von Leuten zum Aussichtspavillon des Berghauses Grindelwaldblick pilgerte. Auf deren Rückweg habe ich ein anderes Objektiv montiert, die Kamera geschwenkt und ein paar Aufnahmen gemacht.

Der Bahnhof Eigergletscher war 2019 noch im Bau - da wurde auch nachts mit Flutlicht gearbeitet. Rechts oben ist das Jungfraujoch, links davon die Berge Mönch und Eiger.

The #canyon of the #Piva River in #Montenegro near #Mratinje - very close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina - for #MountainMonday. Unfortunately we were only passing through the country, and didn't spend much time in Bosnia-Herzegovina either, but this region is so lush and wild, and beautiful, I wish we could go again and explore more!

A wide, slightly high-angle shot shows a dramatic mountain gorge with a turquoise river flowing through it, as seen from a bridge. The foreground features a bright blue metal railing of the bridge, which runs horizontally across the lower portion of the frame. The bridge itself has a grey concrete surface visible just below the railing. Beyond the railing, the view plunges down into a deep canyon. Steep, rocky mountain slopes rise on either side, covered in patches of green vegetation, mostly trees and shrubs. The rock faces are a mix of grey and light brown, showing signs of erosion and geological layering. At the bottom of the gorge, a vibrant turquoise river snakes its way through.
